Magic of this World
Rennedawn’s Story
Rennedawn’s Story was an extremely rare text that had been mythologized for years, so long fizzled out and warped that much of the public had never even heard of it. Those who had chalked the tale up to a benign way of keeping children in line.
A children’s fable that tells the epics tale of how Rennedawn came to be and the enchanted rhyme that would save its fading magic, supposedly handed down by the gods that turned out to be an actual prophecy to save the kingdom from its waning magic that will cease the kingdom to exist.
Mystic Illness
a sickness that had plagued the kingdom for the last ten years. The disease attacked without any rhyme or reason, seemingly selecting its victims at random. Some died quickly from the illness—the lucky ones.
Others were left too weak to get out of bed as it slowly stole their lives, like the worst sort of thief. It has been alluded that it is the cause of King Benedict keeping a guvre locked up for a decade.
Rennedawn’s Prophecy
At the start of the world, the magical gods knew,
That color would bleed and all would undo.So to save this place they knew humans would break
They enlisted the tools of Destiny and Fate. The beauty of stars that gleam at night
The children of Fate, created in light
And the magic that balances all dreamed of
Is the key to saving the world in true love. The person who rescues the magical lands
Will take this Fate’s youngling well in hand. When luck and starlight must fall together,
The land will belong to you forever. But beware the unmasked Villain
And their Malevolent dark—
For nothing is more dangerous
Than a blackened good heart. And when the tides turn
All will be as it was
The heart of the true prince
Will save his fated love.Where sunlight beams unvarnished
Rennedawn’s magic will begin mending.
Evil will fall, kingdoms will rise.Heed this prophecy and all of Rennedawn
Will have its happy ending.
Magic Creatures
Fluffy the Dragon
A young dragon being trained by Blade at Massacre Manor after he stole the dragon egg from King Benedict when he heard that they were thinking of selling it to a faraway kingdom.
Guvre
Known as ‘fate’s vengeful creatures’ these deadly beasts have serpent bodies and batlike wings. They breathe purple venom that melts flesh from bones.
Holding a guvre against their will tends to lead to natural consequences like natural disasters that worsen the longer you keep them. Guvres are notoriously mated animals and a baby guvre is called a let.
Memory Plant
A rare flower, only three left in existence, one with the Fortis family and another with King Benedict. It holds memories, even mimics them and is used to siphon magic out of a person.
Destiny Monster
Considered rare or a myth, and one of the world’s oldest magic. One is located at “The Trench” at the Fortis Family Fortress where it tested Trystan and told him his destiny: “Evie Sage is meant to be your downfall, and you her undoing.“
Where things leave off
Evie and Trystan finally get together.
Amara betrays her family to the King and Queen of the Southern kingdom (Kingsley’s parents) that results in Arthur’s death who in his final moments reveals to Trystan that even though he’s not his real father, he loved him as his son.
Benedict infiltrated Massacre Manor and steals Nura’s starlight magic using the memory plant and reveals that Trystan is his son and he is the “prince” from Rennedawns Prophecy.
Benedict also reveals that Evie was born with the “killing magic” and her parents knew when she was born so they asked Benedict for help and they siphoned the magic out of her and gave it to Trystan, revealing she’s the actual villain from Rennedawn’s prophecy.
The final piece of the prophecy that Benedict needs is the pregnant female guvre that Gideon and Keeley helped escape and is still has not been captured again by Benedict.
Kingsley turns back into a person with the help of Winnie the enchantress.
